Caribbean @ the Ballroom
Caribbean Island Restaurant & Ballroom is a relatively new offering on East State, just a few doors down from Los Portales which we visited on the last tour. How can we not go to a place identified as a restaurant AND ballroom? Owner Ben Rouyes offers an excellent plate of Jamaican Jerk Chicken that is sure to not disappoint. I'm still trying to figure out how the meat didn't fall off the bone while they were bringing it to the table.They also have seafood, soups and, for the adventurous, goat. And I was excited to find that you can wash it down with Ting, a very tasty grapefruit soda popular in Jamaica. For those of you watching the waistline plan on hitting the dance floor afterwards to burn off a few calories...
